... I am sorry, but windows XP is so easy to install. you just stick the disk in and follow the prompts more or less. the only time Xp gets a bit tricky is when you want to partition the drive. IBM, I do not are getting behind Linux, but they are not making computers anymore, well not home computers anyway.

The reason that "partitioning" is difficult for Linux installs, and easy for DOS/Windows installs is that: 1) Most HDD's come MS-pre-partitioned, with the partition ID's already set to the right values for a MS OS install. 2) Most Windows installs are either done by the factory, or peformed by users in "single OS"

I can't see any logic in formating a 200G drive if the 20 G partition for the OS needs formating. I make at least 1 drive image a week of my C drive cause s--t does happen, and it's easy to install. I also keep one drives OS with only a few apps on it in case a clean fresh install is needed.
